Adopt a Nest Box

Feb-05-2010:
The Nova Scotia Federation of Hunters and Anglers together with the Atlantic Woodworkers Association have undertaken a project to build, install, and maintain nest boxes for a variety of species throughout Nova Scotia.

Groups or individuals can adopt a box or group of boxes which they would then install at a location that fits the guidelines set out by Ducks Unlimited and the Canadian WIldlife Service.

Groups would be responsible for:
•researching cavity nesting birds
•obtaining permission of the land owner
•following location and installation instructions provided
•reporting GPS coordinates to project manager
•make observations and reporting nest activity to project manager
•clean nest box and put in fresh nesting material before next nesting season
