2017 License of a Lifetime Winners

Dec-14-2017:

Winners of the 2017 Licence of a Lifetime lottery have received a free licence to hunt game and catch fish in Nova Scotia.

This is the 25th year that the province and the Nova Scotia Federation of Anglers and Hunters have jointly offered the prize.

Minister of Natural Resources Margaret Miller, and Travis McLeod, federation president, randomly selected this year's winners who are Henry Stern of Halifax and Chad Pyne of Yarmouth Co.

"We are promoting and supporting the traditional Nova Scotian pastimes of hunting and fishing through this yearly lottery," said Ms. Miller. "Congratulations to the lucky winners!"

Each winner receives a general fishing licence, a small game hunting licence, and their choice of a deer hunting, bear hunting, bear snaring or furharvester licence. Winners are still required to purchase their Wildlife Habitat Stamp.

"I want to thank the departments of Natural Resources and Fisheries and Aquaculture for their co-operation and support in this licence lottery," said Mr. McLeod. "We are pleased to work with government to highlight these traditional activities enjoyed by tens of thousands of Nova Scotians each year."

Money earned from Licence of a Lifetime ticket sales goes to support the federation's education and advocacy programs.
